Tutoring
There are many opportunities for students to receive academic assistance both during the school day and before and after school. To see these opportunities, you may talk to your student's teacher or click here.
Counseling
Our school counselors provide a comprehensive approach to ensure all students graduate, providing academic, college, career, social, and emotional support to meet the needs of our diverse learning community. They help our students to become critical thinkers, capable learners, and productive citizens, preparing them for the rigor of post-secondary education and 21st Century careers and developing the intellectual, social, cultural and occupational characteristics of our students in order to develop resilient, effective, and valued members of a global community.
Deans
Deans help students resolve non-academic problems that may interfere with their educational opportunities. Deans also handle all attendance issues and discipline referrals, and report this information to building leaders and parents.
Health Office
School nurses who are registered nurses (R.N.) or certified school nurses (CSN) are on duty during school hours. The nurse administers emergency first aid, maintains student health records, consults with parents, students, and teachers concerning health matters, and provides first aid and other health supplies to staff. Fire department paramedics are called as well as parents in the event of a serious accident, injury, or illness.
School Psychologists
School psychologists are uniquely qualified members of school teams that support students' ability to learn and teachers' ability to teach. They apply expertise in mental health, learning, and behavior, to help children and youth succeed academically, socially, behaviorally, and emotionally.
Social Workers
School social workers are responsible for working with the students who have social work on their Individual Education Plans (IEP). The skills we typically work on are social skills, appropriate peer relationships and boundaries, attending to tasks, teaching coping skills, teaching anger management and learning how to function successfully in their classroom.
Speech-Language Therapists
Speech-language pathologists in schools collaborate with teachers, special educators, interpreters, other school personnel, and parents to develop and implement individual or group programs, provide counseling, and support classroom activities.
